Para taekwondo
Highlights
Taekwondo is a Korean martial art dating back to 50 BC. It means "the way of the foot and the fist". Para taekwondo was introduced to the Parapan American Games in Lima 2019, only a year before its Paralympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
Para taekwondo is adapted from conventional taekwondo for people with physical impairments in their upper limbs. This Para sport is practiced in the Kyorugi and Poomsae disciplines.
