BAGUA GRANDE WILL BE THE LAST CITY OF THE JUNGLE TO RECEIVE THE PAN AMERICAN TORCH

It is the most populated city of Amazonas region.

On July 17, Bagua Grande city will receive the Pan American torch, on its fourteenth day of relay across Peru. This will be the torch's final destination in the Peruvian Jungle. 

A total of 33 torchbearers will participate of 6.6 km torch relay. The route starts at the San Luis stadium and finishes at Plaza de Armas. 

Among the torchbearers will be Margarito Machacuay Valera, famous for being one of the tallest person in Peru, and Fredy Oc Reyes, weightlifting national champion in Chiclayo and Lima, who also participated in various national and international competitions. 

Bagua Grande is the fourteenth city on the road to Lima, where the Pan American and Parapan American Games will take place on 26 July.
