José Luis Rubio, responsible for the audiovisual services units from the Spanish group MEDIAPRO, to be the Lima 2019 Host Broadcaster, informed that 4K tech will be used as in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies as in the sports broadcasting.
The company will be in charge of producing around 900-hour-live broadcast during the Pan American Games.
MEDIAPRO leads sports broadcasting. The company participated in the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Ultra HD tech 4K will be used as in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies as in the sports competitions in Lima 2019 Games’ broadcast, José Luis Rubio, responsible for the audiovisual services units from the Spanish group MEDIAPRO, to be the Host Broadcaster for the Pan American and Parapan American Games carried out for the first time in Peru informed.
This will be possible thanks to a high capacity and technical support from the organization, in charge of broadcasting the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup this year, he pointed out. The multinational Spanish production company MEDIAPRO leads sports broadcasting. It was chosen in an open process developed under the Government-to-government Agreement with the U.K.
“We live in a globalized world so that large networks need to produce content,” he affirmed.
Rubio stated, additionally, it is not only about providing with neither technical means nor organization but ‘value of content’. “It is related to making awareness. We believe we can contribute a lot with the full understanding and the worldwide celebration of the Pan American and Parapan American Games’ message,” he said.
Around 900-hour-live broadcast will be produced during competitions. It is planned to cover 22 sports and 31 disciplines from 19 venues of the Lima 2019 Games.
World Broadcaster Meeting
José Luis Rubio participated in the World Broadcaster Meeting, carried out this week in the Lima Convention Center, where the International Broadcast Center (IBC) will be placed during the Games. Images will be distributed to all Peruvian TV channels and to each of the foreign TV channels with rights to broadcast.
Peruvian and foreigner Right Holding Broadcaster met in the event. They are the main representatives of the local and continental TV stations. More than 50 accredited Right Holders were present. “A lot of interest is shown and we are glad of that. Expectations are good and impressive. This is the first meeting and another one is probably going to happen in December, where we can agree on dates and schedules,” the representative of MEDIAPRO declared. Questions were answered in this first meeting.
He pointed out that Lima 2019 broadcast is looking for creating the same identity feeling lived in the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup, MEDIAPRO was in charge of broadcasting. “In the FIFA World Cup, we demonstrated our specialization related to product customizing,” he mentioned.
He also said that all symbols are very important. “When we talk about Games, we talk about ‘citius, altius, fortius’ (‘faster, taller, stronger’) that mean competitiveness, sportsmanship, which are universal values already existing in Peruvian society and we are going to highlight them,” he indicated.
